    • Day 6: Basecamp to Summit and back to Basecamp

    Detailed Itinerary

    Manali (2050 m)

    Reception at kullu-manali airport/bus stand by team Mountaineerz. After arrival at Mountaineerz base, rest after refreshments. Explore Manali/ nearby in the afternoon. Dinner and stay at Mountaineerz Base in Haripur.
    After breakfast, acclimatization trek to Soil, the oldest village in Kullu. Then, after late lunch, I prepared for the expedition.  Dinner and stay at Mountaineerz Base.

    Manali – Jispa (3500 m) – Bharatpur (4500 m)

    In the morning after breakfast, drive 130km, 7hours to Jispa. Today we will drive over the scenic Rohatang pass (3970 m). On arrival in Jispa set out camp. After Jispa drive uphill to Baralachla Pass (4800mts). In Tandi you can see the confluence of Rivers Chandra and Bhaga and the Chandrabhaga mountain ranges. On arrival at Bharatpur Set out camp, free till evening tea. After evening tea acclimatization walk and back to camp.

    Bharatpur (4500 m)

    Today we will gradually ascend from Bharatpur, the trail continues to the snow line. Here we will do some training on snow and ice. Come back to camp for lunch.

    Bharatpur-Camp-1 (5300 m)

    After breakfast we will move to Camp-1. Reach camp-1 and set out camp. After evening tea we will go for an acclimatization walk.  Back to camp for dinner and rest.

    Camp-1 (5300 m)

    Today exercise ascending and descending on snow with self-arrest, fix rope climbing etc.  Come back to camp for lunch.  Early dinner.  Overnight in tents.

    Camp-1 - Summit (6150 mts) – Bharatpur

    Today after early breakfast at around 02:00 am,  we will start to climb the peak. After prayers and pictures on top of the peak, we will descend to Base camp at Bharatpur. Stay in tents.

    Bharatpur - Manali

    Today we will drive back to Manali and head straight for a celebratory (Mountain willing☺) dinner.

    Manali – Chandigarh/Delhi

    After early breakfast, drive to Manali. Explore Manali before departure from bus stand in New Manali.

    Inclusions

    • Stay in 3-man tents during the trek.

    • Cost of any form of client insurance (Personal/Baggage/Medical)
    • Cost of rescue, evacuation, hospitalization, etc.
    • Any expenses of purely personal nature
    • Any expenses that arise due to change in itinerary because of natural forces like landslides, weather, roadblocks, flight cancellations, sickness etc.

    • Wilderness Lodge in Sethan
    • Stay of your choice in any 3, 4 or 5 star cottage or hotel can be arranged at prior request

    Essential Information

    • Prior high-altitude trekking experience of at least 4000 meters
    • The climber must be fit and have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance in 30-40 minutes with a 15 kg backpack.
    • Pulse rate at rest should be between 60 to 90 bpm
    • Blood Pressure – DIASTOLIC 75 – 85, SYSTOLIC 100 – 130 mm Hg
    • The respiratory rate – 12 to 20 breaths per minute
    • Should not have  Diabetes Mellitus, Bronchial Asthma, Epilepsy, Heart problems, Very High blood pressure, Liver and Kidney issues or pacemaker implant
    • People with Sinus and other chronic issues please consult a doctor before booking the trek

    Items to Carry

    Clothing
    • Back pack & rain cover (50 – 60 ltr) with  shoulder straps
    • Day pack + rain cover 20 – 30 ltr (If you hire a mule or porter)
    • Trekking Shoes with ankle support and are waterproof.
    • 2 pairs of cotton socks
    • 1-2 pairs of woolen socks (best to use when in camp. Not recommended while trekking).
    • Pants: 2-3 pairs -Ideally quick dry lightweight synthetic pants or track pants. Avoid jeans/denim.
    • T-shirts 2-3 pairs–Preferably full sleeves
    • Synthetic Fleece Jacket -1 pair.
    • Windproof/Waterproof Jacket -1 pair.
    • Down-filled/Hollow fibre fill insulated Jacket – 1 pair
    •  A woollen cap for the head and ears
    • Thermal liners-1 pair upper and lower
    Miscellaneous
    • Toiletries -Sunscreen SPF 40+, Moisturizer, Lip balm, Soap, Toilet paper.
    • Repair Kit (needle and thread).
    • Headlamp/ Torch.
    • Trekking Pole at least 1
    • Water Bottle- Ideally keep two bottles 1 liter each.
    • Personal Medical Kit Consult your doctor
    • Snacks Energy bars, dry fruits, electrol/ors
    • Plastic Packing covers. (Please pack all your gear in waterproof plastic bags so that your clothes etc do not get wet while on horses or porters. Also carry extra plastic bags in case you need to pack wet clothes.)

    Note: We advise you to carry all the belongings in a rucksack so that it is easy to move around in case of any emergency.
