    Manali to 'VanVaas'

    Discover the Wilderness: This is the acclimatization day of your Experiential Spiti Valley Road Trip with YolO Life, to make the most of it we have some adventures planned.

    Welcome to Manali! After your overnight journey from Delhi or Chandigarh, our team will warmly receive you. From there, we’ll embark on a hike to Vanvaas: The Wilderness Lodge, located in the quaint hamlet of Soil on the Naggar Manali road. The trail takes you through charming villages, where friendly locals greet you with warm smiles. As you continue along the gentle forest trail for about 45 minutes, you’ll stumble upon a hidden gem. A cozy Himachali home nestled amidst apple orchards and tall trees awaits you. Take a deep breath of the fresh mountain air, immersing yourself in a Shinrin-Yoku experience.

    Upon reaching Vanvaas, unwind and freshen up. Explore the surrounding forest and find a peaceful spot by the gushing Pucknozz stream. Nature and bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the amazing sightings in the area. Allow the forest to rejuvenate your senses. In the evening, enjoy a quiet dinner around a bonfire and BBQ, and then retire for the night, serenaded by the soothing sounds of the stream.

    Day 2: Start the Spiti Valley Trip from Manali - Atal Tunnel - Koksar - Baatal - Kunzum La - Chicham (8 hrs)

    After breakfast, we depart from Manali and begin our adventure through the famous Atal Tunnel, leading us into the mesmerizing Spiti Valley. Get ready for an exhilarating off-roading experience as we drive along the Chandra River, witnessing its powerful flow. Our journey takes us across the stunning Kunzum La pass, where we’ll be surrounded by majestic mountains. Our destination for the day is the picturesque village of Chicham, where we’ll stay in a traditional homestay, immersing ourselves in the local culture.

    Chicham – Ki – Kibber – Tashigang - Chicham (5 hrs)

    Today, we’ll cross the renowned Chicham Bridge and explore the ancient monasteries and sights of Ki, Kibber, and Tashigang. These high-altitude villages offer a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region. Immerse yourself in the spiritual ambiance, interact with the locals, and learn about their way of life. After a day of exploration, we return to Chicham for another cozy night in the homestay.

    Chicham – Langza – Komik – Hikkim – Kaza (4 hrs)

    Leaving Chicham, our next stop is the enchanting village of Langza. Marvel at the serene statue of Buddha and soak in the breathtaking views of the Chau Chau Kang Nelda peak. We continue our journey to Komik, where you can visit the Tanggyud Monastery, famous for its unique architecture. Don’t miss the opportunity to send a postcard from the highest post office in the world located in Hikkim. As the day comes to an end, we reach Kaza, where we’ll stay in a comfortable homestay or guesthouse.

    Kaza – Dhankar – Tabo – Mud (5 hrs)

    Immerse yourself in the rich history and spirituality of Spiti Valley as we visit the ancient Tabo Monastery and the meditation caves. Explore the old monasteries of Dhankar and the Kungri Monastery, gaining insight into the region’s deep-rooted Buddhist heritage. As the day unfolds, we head to Mud, a scenic village where we’ll spend the night in a homestay or guesthouse.

    Mud – Kaza – Chicham

    We start our journey back to Chicham, passing through Kaza. Take in the picturesque landscapes and savor the tranquility of the valley. Return to the homestay in Chicham for a relaxing evening.

    Chicham – Kunzum La – Chandratal - Batal – Chhatru – Rohtang Pass – Manali

    On our final day, we bid farewell to Chicham and cross over the majestic Kunzum La pass once again. Our next stop is the iconic Chandratal Lake, also known as the “Moon Lake.” Delight in the magical beauty of the shimmering lake surrounded by towering mountains. Afterward, we drive back to Manali via the Atal Tunnel, passing through the scenic landscapes of Batal, Chhatru, and Rohtang Pass. Reflect on the cherished memories of your Spiti Valley journey as you return to Manali.

    We’ll have a late lunch in a nice cafe in Old Manali before drop to the bus stand for the journey back to Delhi/ Chandigarh.

    Conduct of this 'Spiti Valley Tour from Manali' :

    Guests will arrive in Manali and check in to the homestay / cottage. Be prepared to ride on the roughest and highest roads in the world. We use powerful and comfortable high clearance 4×4 off-road vehicles  for the roadtrips. Remember, the ride may not be comfortable in intervals as the drive is mostly on no roads but it sure would be the most scenic and wild. All vehicles are equipped with oxygen cylinders and a basic first aid medical kit. The trip will start after a quick round of refreshments.

    On private departure one can choose to travel in Innova or SUV’s.  

    All relevant details of the touring team including staff will be shared with authorities including the SDM and the police and all due permits and permissions will be acquired before the commencement of the trip

    We strongly recommend that participants spend at least one night in Manali to acclimatize. On this trip you would be sleeping at high altitudes and uneasiness and discomfort due to this is very likely. Therefore, please spend at least one night in Manali before the trip.

    Note: We advise you to carry all the belongings in a rucksack so that it is easy to move around in case of any emergency.

    Know Before You go to Spiti Valley via Manali in Summers:

    • All participants are strongly recommended to have travel insurance that covers trekking and wilderness travel.
    • We strongly recommend that participants spend at least one night in Manali to acclimatize. On this trip you would be sleeping at really high altitudes and uneasiness and discomfort due to altitude is very likely therefore please spend at least one night in Manali before planning to spend the night at Chandratal at 4200 meters.
    • Please note that the roads in Spiti after Rohtang pass are not in good condition. Be prepared! If in case of a mechanical breakdown of the vehicle, the guests may have to wait for long for the substitute vehicle to arrive or for any alternate arrangements to be made. We suggest that you carry a bag of nick-nacks such as chocolates, dry fruits and biscuits for personal consumption, in case of unforeseen waiting periods..
    • Please note that the lunch and meals during travel (not included) are at ‘dhabhas’ (roadside restaurants) and are very basic in nature, though clean. You can also carry a bag of nick-nacks such as chocolates, dry fruits and biscuits for personal consumption, although we’d also be providing some snacks for the road.
    • Please note that there are no real luxury stay options available in Spiti. Stay in this package is some of the best options available. 3 participants shall share one room, however couples can be given a room subject to availability and prior request, and extra cost if applicable.
    • Road trip programs in the Himalaya are not necessarily always run exactly as scheduled. Allow for unplanned long days or early camps due to weather disruptions or similar causes. 
    • Wear shoes and clothes you are comfortable in and do not forget waterproof jackets and warm clothing. 
    • Do not litter the environment. Polythene and plastics are non-biodegradable and unhealthy for the environment and must not be littered or burned and should be carried back.

    We strongly suggest you keep yourself adequately hydrated- possibly double your water intake.

    • Ensure that you take all your medications along to avoid any health issues.
    • Inform your friends and family before you depart for the trip and let them know that this will be a ‘No-Network’ zone.

    We will be your point of contact throughout the entire trip. Our complete staff is trained and certified, including our wilderness first responders on the programs. So in any case, we will be there to help you out.

    Payments, Confirmation, and Cancellation Policies

    • You can book your trip with just INR. 2000 and pay the balance 30 days before the trip start date or
    • you can pay the full amount here using netbanking or upi upto 7 days before trip start date
    • Spiti Valley Group tours are planned on a first-come first-served basis.

    • Once the payment is received, you will be notified over email with a confirmation.

    Cancellation Policy

    • In the event of cancellation, we must be notified in writing (e-mail to contact@yoloo.life).
    • Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges will be as follows: –

    Full refund within 05 working days

    • Cancellation between 07 days and 14 days in advance

    The amount would be adjusted against another spiti trip or 50% refund.

    • Cancellation between 0 days and 07 days to the start of the trip.

    No refund and adjustment against any planned Spiti road trip may be possible subject to applicable hotel and vehicle cancellation conditions.

    • In case the tour has to be cancelled or cut short due to any reason natural, medical or otherwise No Refund would be made although alternate activity and stay with dinner and breakfast would be provided.
