Deo Tibba Climbing Expedition 2024: Deo Tibba is a beautiful 6001-meter-high peak situated in the Pir Panjal range of The Himalayas in the Manali region in Himachal Pradesh. Deo Tibba – revered by the locals of this area to be the meeting place of the deities of the upper Kullu valley – consists of an extensive ice cap, the actual climb being a snow hump accessible once the edge of the ice plateau is reached. It also has the beauty of being just over the 6000 meter high mark which is a great achievement for any climber.
The mountain itself consists of an extensive ice cap, with the actual climb being up a challenging hump of inclined wind slab snow, requiring the use of crampons, ice axes and fixed rope.
This magnificent peak is accessible once the edge of the great snow & ice plateau, extending to the periphery of the Malana Glacier, which lies at the head of the upper Kullu and Malana valleys is reached. After the summit, one is rewarded with an exhilarating view of vast eternal snowfields, hanging glaciers and the lofty peaks of the surrounding areas, including the many peaks of the Malana & Tosh glacier catchments, and the majestic mountains of the Bara-Shigri glacier. Peaks such as the Ali Ratni Tibba, Devachan, Kullu Pumori, Dharamasura ( aka White Sail) and Papsura(all near, or above 6,000 M), raise their mighty summits. This panoramic view of these majestic summits of the high Himalaya remains etched in the mind of the beholder for a long time.
